I'd probably do what any sane person would do: try to keep my head down and survive without too much trouble.

I would suck hard in a fight. I'll honestly admit it, I'm a coward, and can be rather clumsy. So fighting of any sort would be an absolute last resort for me after hiding, running, bargaining, and pleading failed.

If possible I would join up with whoever had managed to organize and restore a decent level of civilization first. So I'd just sit back and hope one of you rebel/nation building types could set up some kind of order that isn't too brutal or corrupt.

"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

i might or might not starve, but at least there wouldn't be a hopelessly massive level of human organization pointing guns at my head and telling me i had to worship little green pieces of paper.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

No there'd be bands of maurauders pointing guns at your head and demanding you give up your gas and food. Presuming you weren't shot on site (or worse) for having the wrong skin color or being the wrong faith.
