I think this town has about 50,000

I used to live in a town of 4,000 out in Michigan's Thumb.

I have been thinking about rolling back my transition plans for a more favorable culture and merely dress female in private and refer to myself as female online in forums where my physical name isn't attached to my presence.

I still think about it, sure, and yeah, I'll wonder what my life would have been like if they hadn't divorced. Do I wish things had been different? No. I wouldn't be who I am if they hadn't, and whose to say I'd be better or worse off? No point dwelling on the unknown. You can't regret a life you can't possibly predict.

If it wasn't for some industrial plants at the north and west sides I'd agree that is a village. Villages don't usually house companies with contracts with the Pentagon.

I know cars are a hellalot cheaper in the US than the UK at least. A car that would cost about £4,000 here would probs cost about $1,500 in los estados unidos. Why a lot of people import stuff like VW vans.

Well 6k is a village, might be why it feels like one. The sort of minimum population for a town is around 8k.

In places like Michigan, you have full functioning cities by the time you get to 8k people where you might have more than one big box store (WalMart, Meijer, etc.)

Hmm, Waltham UK is about 2000 and I think it's considered a large village. I'd say a town is about 5000

I think villages also have a specific flair to them which lacks industrialization in my book.

The US is the land of urban sprawl to the point that a town is any place without a Wal Mart, and a village is a place that lacks a Dollar General.

Indeed, America sprawls out. It's almost a farce for people to not understand how I describe society in the US is by big box stores. The more of them there are, the more significant the place is.

Depends how you deck it out, starting less than 20,000. Though.

Edit; make that less than 18,000 to start.
