Which gender is God, and why?

I personally believe that God is neither. God is a spirit, and a spirit has no flesh or bones, therefore, God cannot be male nor female in physical form. God is not a human. Christians believe God expressed himself in physical form, though, through his son, Jesus Christ. However, I can't presume to KNOW. The Creator is a mystery to me. There is the doctrine of God, the Father. Is the Creator literally male? I don't know any more than anyone here. It's humbling. I believe in God. I'm not certain about any theological interpretations right now, though. What if no one has gotten it quite right? I'm more confused now than ever. I was more sure in my early twenties. Little makes sense now. Perhaps God can show the best qualities of each gender. I could be wrong, we could all be wrong though. For all we know God could be a cat.

Many people think that God is only a manifestation of the worst of humankind, because we invented him that way... a power hungry tyrant in spirit form, or he simply doesn't give a damn and humans filled in the blanks to suit their own needs.

What is your opinion and why have you come to this conclusion?

If there's a god, I highly doubt questions of sex/gender matter. Such a force would be outside of nature and outside of our conception of things or people, including sex and especially gender.

And if there were a sex, I'd go for both aspects of the feminine and masculine.

This is not so in all cultures, and several cultures have the opposite of this. Take the Sentinel island peoples for example.
Plus normal western culture is pretty egalitarian nowadays.

Why would you consider gender a limit, when God created it? Also, when has gender become a "trivial biological silliness [of] sexual activity and reproduction"? Wouldn't that be from a human perspective?

God didn't make men dominant over women. Some men made men dominant over women (though I suppose if you believe that God is omnipotent you must believe that God caused it or at least allowed it to happen). But such injustices are temporary. We are moving toward equality, I hope.
