Truly we can all rest easy. America no longer risks being confused with the jungle savages, camel herders or communists.

Rephrasing something in a hyperbolic banner doesn't make it untrue. If you give one couple certain benefits and deny other couple the same benefits for something as superficial as gender composition, it takes a lot of mouth-breathing ignorance to consider that ok. You are basically condemning a whole group of people to second-class citizenry, its a governmental acceptance that they are of inferior worth, value and dignity. I don't want to harp on that but I would say keeping same-sex marriage bans is the equivalent of utter barbarity.

I find both the Obamacare Ruling and the Gay Marriage Ruling to be a step in the right direction. We still have many problems in this country that addressed, but I think this is a stepping stone in the right direction. :)

This is an easy one/win in this case. Anyone who opposes SSM is automatically painted by the media/supporters as intolerant, hateful, backwards, bigots, etc.

I say that as a supporter generally speaking of SSM, just for the record.

No. This is civil marriage, not the religious variant. You can ask a priest, but even if he does it it's illegal because the Church doesn't support it.

I highly doubt that. In Canada as far as I know, e.g. there is no such concern.

And being from Canada which has had SSM on the books for years now, guess what...families still have kids, men and women still get married and raise families. Things are just fine here.*

Honestly, if SCOTUS found Hobby Lobby a case of religious freedom, I don't think American priests ever have to fear the day when they will literally be forced to marry gay couples. Like seriously.

That really depends on what you refer to by "developed world". If you mean Western Europe, then Divitaen is mostly right, since right now only the Merkelreich, Northern Ireland and Italy don't recognise marriage equality, but all other states in Western Europe do.
