Considering you can still marry the way you want and still have a family the way you want (well you and your spouse) I fail to see how it destroys either.

The universal law of the slippery slope demands that legalization of same-sex marriage invariably must lead to the prohibition of marriage between man and woman. Obviously.

Why do I feel glum? Because its the destruction of all my views on families and marriage.

I'm a Christian too. I have no problem with people who love each other being able to tie the knot in a civil institution. Of course some churches, temples, etc. will perform same-sex marriages/unions, but they won't be compelled to do so I believe.

Gays and lesbians are every bit capable of loving and compassion and being good people as much as you and I or anyone. Stop being so hung up about who they love. Leave them be. God loves them, Christ commanded us to love each other. Yes, families are important, every relationship is important, stop focusing so much on what people do and focus on yourself and how you can be a better person. As we all should do.

What if a state changes from red to blue? Or blue to red? And thus the legislature regarding marriage changes.

That was my understanding too. I think the momentous social change brought upon by activists within the Obama Administration has been forced through too fast and without the required popular consultation.

MUH STATES RIGHTS

Imagine people dying in a bloody civil war over a marriage certificate.
For so long, Mankind has been plagued by division. Division by culture, creed, skin color, religion and nationality. These very divisions have been the cause of most human conflicts. But in the age of globalism, we can finally have that chance to implement a world government where all human beings are seen as equals. Isn't that what everyone wants? World peace? I do. You should support that too. It may not end all conflicts, but the reductions of Man on Man violence will be at an all time low when the entire planet gets administered by one governing body.
