Yeah, it's really bad up on the central coast. I woulda been up there for Cambria's fireworks show on the beach, but they cancelled it this year because of the fire danger. No point dealing with the summer tourist crowds up there without the fireworks, so I'm catching one of the myriad LA fireworks shows with the rest of the family.

Yeah... California and Australia actually share very similar fire danger conditions. Dry conditions + hot weather + high winds = EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE!!!
Much love for our fire pilots though. Those guys have got serious balls of steel, especially when they're maneuvering through the canyons in high wind conditions. It's insane to watch them work.

At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

Well, depends on the trees. Healthy trees are generally more resistant to catching in the first place. Unhealthy trees, on the other hand... yeah, those are bad. Explosive, in some cases!
