From what I'm reading, this team is "sub-par" as a way to get back at BB.

Pretty sad IMHO.

And I don't know, as Hank Hill would say, whether I should laugh or vomit that Jaromir Jagr has more goals than the entire team. I mean, don't get me wrong, Jagr's one of my favorite players, but still, it's pretty disappointing.

I'm sure that the Ducks will get themselves back in order at some point, though. I mean, they have to.

Right? Camicon and I are watching our teams which were playoff contenders looking like bottom feeders, but at least the Flames aren't being talked about as sucking just to get back at Hartley.

Flames still have the ability to come back, that's why, and they are not as bad as the Ducks right now.
However, in all honesty, I wish the Flames would acquire a better goaltender than Hiller. He is pretty much a waste of money right now? How much is he earning? $4.5M per year?

Calgarypuck could use your optimism. Just beware the "Vancouver is no Good" thread, though.

I just like the young guys in Calgary: Gaudreau and Monahan. The rest are really trivial. :p
Of course, I love Sedins more than I love them. :p

Calgarypuck's pretty cool. I enjoy reading the "Edmonton is no Good" threads because the posts have plenty of cogent posts and just straight up hilarious e-drama that goes back years. :p

I never read "Edmonton is no good". Maybe I should rea upon that as well as threads about Toronto to see how much blasphemy their fans can say about their team. :p

You're forgetting Hamilton, Brodie, Colborne, Ferland, Bouma, Jooris, and Bennett.

Also, fuck the Sedins. :p

Hamilton and Brodie are going to be elite defencemen for years to come, they're almost there already. Bennett has as much potential as Gaudreau or Monahan. Colborne, Ferland, Bouma, and Jooris, are all young players that make meaningful contributions to the team and make games exciting to watch. I don't call any of that "trivial".

The Sedins are good people, I won't deny that, but fuck 'em. They've played for the Canucks for the last fifteen years, that is a deplorable and inexcusable lapse in judgement. :p

Vancouver has some promising potential as well, including, but not limited to, Baertschi, Virtanen, McCann, and Horvat. Sedins are elite, and Miller is better than Hiller in net. :p

Ha! We dumped Baertschi on you 'cause he was drinking his own Kool-Aid, thinking he was big shit.

And yeah, you're right, Miller is so much better than Hiller that he got the 'Nucks into the second round last year. Or... wait... the Canucks did make it to the second round last year, right? I mean, who could possibly have beat them in the first round that prevented them from getting to the second? I simply cannot think of anyone. :p

We picked Baertschi up for a reason. Our team has the capacity to make busts look like stars, such in the case of Cory Schneider.

Also, Miller faced Ramo in the first round; that is why we lost. Eddie Lack has partly to do with that as well. Ramo is in the minors now, and Miller clearly plays better than he does at this point. :p

Yes, Cory Schneider, who you so expertly traded away for... nothing, really. No return on that investment. Besides which, what has Baertschi done lately to make him so well-worth the price the Canucks paid (the Flames picked up their top defensive prospect with the draft pick they got)?

And it was definitely Hiller in net against the Canucks, Ramo played during the Anaheim series, in relief of Hiller. And the only reason Ramo is in the minors is because the Flames (to my great disappointment) haven't been doing a whole hell of a lot to win games for their 'tenders; Miller wouldn't have done any better in his place.

We got Horvat in return for Schneider, and he is a potential first-liner. So, we did get something in return. You guys have Giordano and Russell on defense, and yet, Hiller lets in a great deal of goals. Hiller won't be lasting long in the NHL, although I don't know too much about Ortio.

Potential first-liners post better stats than 25 points over 68 games with a -8 plus/minus, especially when their team places 2nd in the Pacific. And you do know that your entire team needs to play well if you want your goalie to keep pucks out of the net (unless you're Carrie Price, but he's a unique case); one defensive pairing isn't enough.

True. Our team is somewhat overrated. Sedins are the only guys I like in Vancouver, really. :p

Bo Horvat is a good shutdown centre. We got nothing out of Luongo, and Lack was basically given away.

We got Matthias who came out to be a short-term lease before we sent him down to the minors, also known as the Maple Leafs. Lack is worth nothing, really.

Well, I mean, Luongo requested a trade and he's not antagonized by his fans.
