Edmonton trying to improve their ways is certainly something good in terms of progress for them. Good job on them for that. Now it's their time to gradually improve the squad with talent and assets they have. Can they do it?
I think this season will show what direction their team will go in the next few years. Chiarelli and McLellan are both unknown variables at this point.
But if they do improve, then so be it. But I reckon some will figure it to be tainted due to the circumstances. I mean, it's one thing to get it together and pull yourself out of the sewers, and another thing to do it by waiting until somebody else has given you enough handouts that you didn't deserve. Plus, it shows how Katz is a pretty calculating guy when it comes to making money. I mean, how many sports owners would kill for a situation like he's got for himself?
