Because I'm feeling a bit generous, I'm going to allow Maineacs to post predictions until 10PM Eastern Time on Monday, (start of Game 3,) and allow Impaled Nazarene to decide the winner of Caps vs Pens until Tuesday, 7:30PM Eastern Time. This will be the only time I'm going to make this exception.

Thus far everyone's picking the Lightning and the Predators. Everyone but Impaled Nazarene picked the Golden Knights. The leader, Elejamie, picked the Penguins, and has an identical bracket to Kaboomlandia. However, I went with the Capitals. So if the Capitals win, Elejamie and I will be tied for first. If the Penguins win, Elejamie will simply need to get one of the semi finalists rights, and the Stanley Cup Winner right, and then Elejamie wins the bracket.

And it probably didn't help that this happened, although it's just a question of whether or not he'll get a suspension for it or if he'll get away scot-free.

It took a couple extra periods, but the Sharks have removed the broom from the Knights' hands before it was really a serious consideration. Quite a turnaround, quite encouraging. Now they're gonna have to take care of business in the Shark Tank if they want a shot to advance. Probably still a longshot, but at least they've shown they're capable of it.

Considering that the Golden Knights have had an amazing season, even winning a game or two with an ECHL-level goalie, I'm fairly sure they might do well these next couple of games. Not monster blow-outs like game one, more along the lines of game two except with a win (probably in regulation time).

Turns out you're right. Mostly because the NHL DoPS not only said that Wilson wouldn't be suspended for the hit but they also released a video that explains the difference between avoidable and unavoidable head contact. And since the Wilson-Dumoulin hit was an example of the latter...

P.S. With the Lightning's 4-2 win earlier, all four serieses (serii?) are tied 1-1, although that's definitely going to change quickly since it's GKs-Sharks game 3 on at the moment. So even if I get the number of games whoever wins their series by (or even pick the wrong team) at least I got the "no sweeps" bit right. Go me.

Eh, maybe this day. I’ve watched them for years. Their commentary is definitely stilted. Every time the Rangers played the penguins or the caps for that matter it was always how great syndy Crosby is and how good the penguins were even as the rangers were knocking them out of the playoffs. Maybe I’m biased, but I loath them.
