The good news is that the Pens have recovered and they're 5-4 up (as of writing). The bad news is that there's still plenty of time left in the third so the Flyers could theoretically level the scores. Either way, that sucks to hear about your kidney problems. No, really, I hope it's nothing too serious.

Well, guess you won't have to worry about that hypothetical "Congrats, Penguins!" video anytime soon thanks to an 8-5 game six win and a 4-2 series win. Still hope your kidneys get better, dude.

Oh they'll get a brief reprieve then my stress induced kidney pain will continue until the pens get eliminated or win the cup. If they lose next round i hope its quiet but competitive. Like I said.

Out of love for underdog teams with good uniforms in decent cities I'm slightly a fan of Toronto...despite it being Canada's Toledo. Thankfully having no attachment or reason beyond why not for rooting for the Leafs means that my inevitable stress induced kidney failure has long been pushed back. Thank you Pens for being the only source of disappointment i'm allowing in my hockey life. My left kidney when it fails will have "Property of: Tampa Bay Buccaneers & Orlando Magic" and the right kidney "Property of: The Fucking Penguins". Thank god that the Steelers only increase my chances of heart failure and when the chunks of my brain are pieced together they will say "Property of Florida Gators Football, please deliver in person as mail may be fumbled or intercepted multiple times en route."

Right, right, I completely forgot about that. But still, with the Pens through to the next round, you won't need to worry about your kidneys until maybe the third round.

P.S. The Western Conference semi-finals are now sorted out thanks to the Preds' 5-0 win in game six against the Avs. I'm actually surprised all of my picks are making it through so far, now if only I can predict next week's lottery numbers.

Pittsburgh vs Capitals or Pittsburgh vs Blue Jackets...PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BLOW THE NEXT 2 GAMES WASHINGTON. MY KIDNEYS CAN'T HANDLE A THIRD YEAR IN A ROW OF THE PENS PLAYING DOWN TO THE CAPS.
I'm disappointed because San Jose is the only lower seed i didn't pick (aside from Lighting and Pens but they don't count) to advance and they advanced. Anaheim sucks.

I really hope either the Blue Jackets or the Maple Leafs (or by some veritable miracle both) can pull off the last two games and advance. Unlikely, but here's to hoping.

Yes they have, thanks to a 3-1 win. I'd celebrate it but with what happened earlier in Toronto today I don't exactly feel in a celebratory mood. Here's hoping they defy the odds and take the series.

That being said, the Caps beat the Blue Jackets 6-3 to win the series 4-2. As a result, they'll be up against THE FUCKING PENGUINS for a third year in a row. No prizes for guessing how it'll turn out.

There won't be a 7th for the Blue Jackets, unfortunately, as they lost to the Capitals, pushing them to move onto to face the Penguins for a third time in a row.

I would love for Boston to win in the do-or-die 7th over Toronto.

Actually I bet the Caps take it this year.

No I mean the Nashville Underdog Juggernaut upsets the favorite team en route to the Cup not winning it.
I just think Pekka Rinne is too good right now.

Oh. I see.

If the Predators can get through the Pittsburgh offense, I think they have a good chance at the Cup.

Posting this as a just in case, especially since it's 6-4 to Boston at the minute with roughly two minutes left. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Final score, 7-4 to the Bruins, making it a 4-3 series win. Oh well, as Meatloaf once sang, "two out of three ain't bad". Or, rather, seven out of eight isn't bad.

You couldn’t have expected Boston to take that lying down. Yeah they had a dismal 2nd period but you had to have known they’d rally in the 3rd

I'll post the bracket ratings over the weekend, been a really busy week for me IRL, but for now, to get my picks in before Thursday:

Golden Knights to beat Sharks
Capitals to beat Penguins
Lightning to beat Bruins
Predators to beat Jets

Just in case there's any doubt, winning team is listed first.
Come, learn about Russian Culture! Bring Vodka and Ushanka. Interested in Slavic Culture? Fill this out.
Stonk Power! (North) Kosovo is (a de facto part of) Serbia and Crimea is (a de facto part of) Russia
I used pronouns until the mods made using wrong pronouns warnable, so I use names instead; if you see malice there, that's entirely on you, and if pronouns are no longer warnable, I'll go back to using them

Meh, no worries, take your time. As for my picks?

Lightning vs Bruins: Even though they're not playing tonight, the Bruins might still be a little tired from their seven-game series against the Leafs, whereas the Lightning may have had more time to warm up and get some practice in.
Penguins vs Capitals: Have you seen that Legacy of Failure video?
Predators vs Jets: The Preds probably still have that momentum, that energy from their last Stanley Cup run, whereas the Jets are in unknown territory. Granted this could turn out like the Wesleys' 2012 run, when they made it to the WCF before bowing out to eventual winners LA, but I just don't really see that happening here.
Golden Knights vs Sharks: Both teams are very good, managing to sweep their opponents in the first round. However, Vegas still has that slight edge. That and I just took a wild stab in the dark, really.

Yes, all home wins. And now for the completely arbitrary "how many games they will win in" thing: Lightning in 6, Pens in 7, Preds in 5 and GKs by 6. No sweeps.
