This is all good news. I cheer for all three teams.

I kinda want LA to somehow, miraculously, beat out San Jose in the playoff race. If LA gets six more points than San Jose does in this final stretch, it would happen.

Me, too. Unfortunately, Quick's injury got the best of the team, and Bishop's not really helping in the LA playoff race. However, as you have mentioned earlier, San Jose tends to struggle in the playoffs, so it won't go far.

LA is more of a middling team overall.

I made an oops, actually.

LA can get a maximum of 16 points if they win all of their remaining games, and are currently 14 points behind San Jose. If LA wins every last one of their games, and San Jose loses all of theirs, then LA makes the playoffs. A tie (if LA wins only 7 of their 8 remaining, or if San Jose wins 1 of their 7 remaining) would probably break in San Jose's favour due to ROW - if LA wins any of their remaining 8 games in the SO, a tie would go to San Jose.

The same is applicable to the Oilers, the only difference being that a tie would likely go to LA.

Nothing short of a miracle will see LA in the playoffs this year, but I'd still like to see it happen.

Ben Bishop doesn't really help, either. Their strategy was more of a blue ocean back in 2012, but, nowadays, there are better teams, so their strategy won't work much against other teams.

Maple Leafs lead 2-0 over Florida. Matthews scored his 35th goal.

Bitter-sweet. I cheer for both teams, but I wouldn't mind the Leafs making the playoffs. May they prosper.

Matthews breaks the franchise goal record by a rookie, while Florida has only... three shots on goal.

Eddie Lack got stretched off after being run over on the OT winner last night.

This was the scene:

Real classy on the Wings to stick around. One of the reasons I love them so much.

The Detroit Red Wings have been eliminated from playoff contention. Their 25 year playoffs streak is over.

Agreed. 25 years, 4 cups, some of the greatest players to ever play the game wore the winged wheel. The Wings truly were a team that defined an era. Hopefully us Leafs will meet them in the Playoffs down the road. :P

Another reason to like the Wings.

Now that Lundqvist is back, they should be playing properly and winning more games.

Eh he's a little slow getting back into a rhythm. He looked better tonight than he did on Sunday, but still not up to snuff. He should get better as they go though, and since they can't be caught by the second Wild Card, and don't really want to catch the Penns they can spend these next few weeks punching up their game, instead of trying to chase positioning.

True. The problem is if the goaltender will be ready for the playoffs.

He'll be ready. It's even money if the rest of the team will get there though.

Why unfortunate? You should be proud of the team for which you cheer.
They're a good team, a perennial contender due to the coach, Alain Vigneault, Lundqvist, and Rick Nash. :)

Looks like the Hansen-Goldobin trade between Vancouver and San Jose didn't turn out to be good.

People are saying Jannik Hansen has become a total bust in San Jose.
