I am happy that Vardy scored and got the record. I think its annoying that Manchester United have managed to score before half- time though and hope Vardy can go and score again (Leicester City for the Premier League Title!!!! :) )

Good on you Bournemouth for staying in that game so long. However, controversial point. Did the referee let play continue too long. There was supposed to be 5 minutes added time, but instead 8:24 was played??? The Bournemouth was also like 7 mins in as well. Should the referee have stopped the game after the Everton goal???

Everton fans invaded the pitch after the goal, so it was their fault ironically. :p

Real Madrid have been disqualified from the Copa del Rey by the RFEF for fielding an ineligible player against Cádiz in the round of 32. Pretty amazing something like this can happen to one of the biggest teams, and in this age of technology.

Also in B I think you're underestimating Wolfsburg. They can beat PSV for sure.

1. Imo they aren't capable of taking on Sevilla, especially after we saw what Sevilla could do against Dinipro in the Europa League and against Barca in the super cup. Also the De Bruyne deal is not confirmed as of now.

2. Also, Wolfsburg play almost everything through De Bruyne, so if he does go it's going to hit them badly.

Heartbeak but not winning against PSV put us in this position. At least there is still the Europa League, if the club doesn't disregard it.

While the USSF may have a genuine double standard with regard to the use of artificial turf, the New York Times is being blatantly dishonest when it says:

…the Olympics, where FIFA has again insisted on natural grass — because the men will be playing in the same stadiums as the women.

Did it somehow not occur to the author that the 2016 Olympic football tournaments might be played on grass not because of some misogynist FIFA conspiracy, but simply because they’re being played in Brazil, where all the venues have grass because it’s fucking Brazil, not Canada?

Yes I do admit I was wrong, I overestimed United's capabilities and underestimated PSV and Wolfsburg. I still believe that United will get to at least the quarterfinals of the Europa league though, well not believe, I hope we get to the quarterfinals :p. As far as the other English teams go in UCL I believe the farthest they can get is next round

TV companies screwing the away match-going fan again. Exeter v Liverpool selected for TV coverage… on a Friday night, making it four away trips in a row in nine days for the Reds. Not even near each other either – Sunderland Dec 30, West Ham Jan 2, Stoke Jan 5, Exeter Jan 8.

England draw Wales in the Euros...tasty...

England's Group: England, Wales, Slovakia & Russia.

Makes for pretty happy reading, should qualify through that no problem. Touch wood.

Group A
France
Switzerland
Romania

Albania

Should be a fairly clear-cut affair, I think.

Group B
Slowakia
Wales
Russia

England

England's brilliant qualification runs being meaningless for the actual tournament is, of course, not exactly news. And England only making fourth when third place may suffice for qualification just makes the tabloids that much juicier.

Group C
Poland
Germany

Northern Ireland
Ukraine

Should be a pretty clear affair. But Germany's a bit of a mess right now, so Poland for the top spot, carried on the wings of Lewandowski.

Group D
Spain
Croatia
Czech Republic

Turkey

Poor Turkey, but its glory days are in the increasingly distant past. Spain should have recovered from the world cup.

Group E
Italy
Belgium

Ireland
Sweden

Moving on to the unnecessary groups for this ridiculous 24-team tournament, I can see the first and second, and the third and fourth switch places, but by and large, it should be pretty clear-cut.

Group F
Austria
Iceland
Portugal

Hungary

Maybe it's wishful thinking - Portugal should probably displace either Austria or Iceland -, but that's what I want, dammit. And if Portugal displaces one of my two top picks, it's probably Iceland - Austria has rather more international experience in its team, I think. Luckily for it, Hungary should provide the points needed for Portugal to qualify for the next round, anyway.
