Manchester is red.
Pro: Odin, axes, loot, raiding, the sea, pillaging, beards, mead.

Anti: Christians, cowards, Saxons, hot weather, a distinct lack of facial hair.

Oh well.

Who ya gonna cheer for, the Germans or the Belgians?

They can always add to the one-sided rivalry the English have with the Germans.

Neither.

I cannot cheer for the Germans. It's the main rival.

Belgium is nice.

But, if they were to win the EC, they'd have the same amount of prizes as us. Nuh-uh, not going to support that. We have to stay better than them (across all of football history on average).

So I'll support the French.

It will save me buying a new flag, I just turn my current one 90 degrees ;)

There should be no comma between hup and Holland. /pedantic.

Seems fitting.

They have the same kind of history as the Dutch with being overrated and crashing hilariously :)

Exactly and both have worn white kits so there is little difference. :)

The English team is full of spoiled brats that are constantly overrated by the English Sports Propaganda machine. Why not go for countries with real team spirits like Albania, Iceland, Wales, Northern Ireland or Turkey? ;) ;)

Gareth Bale is of course in no way, shape, or form hyped by the sports media. A plucky underdog, biting his way through overpaid opposition, a down to earth guy with a modest salary, bringing football back to its roots.

There is supposedly a curse about the World Cup bronze. Whoever wins it do not qualify in the next EURO.

I just noticed that on only four occasions did a team from outside Europe win third place: 1930 (USA! USA!), 1938 (Brazil), 1962 (Chile), and 1978 (Brazil). Intriguing, isn't it?

It's a shame we've had to sacrifice Joemez and Ings to make Sturridge indestructible, really.

Oh yes, sure, Bale is the pinpoint of the whole team of Wales. He does everything. Please mate, nobody besides the butthurt English propaganda machine talked about Bale in these qualifiers.

Not to mention it's kind of a big deal, since Wales have only qualified for one major tournament in it's history.

To me Bale seems fairly down to earth, at least compared to a lot of mega footballing stars. Not down to earth, normal person, but by footballing standards. I think he's been hanging out with Ronaldo too much though as he's certainly becoming more arrogant.

Mind you this is a team who only let in 4 goals all qualifying, so it wasn't just a one player show. The victories were built on a rock solid team performance, shutting teams out. Sadly not the most attractive, but we are through! Which is the main thing here.

Little John is in class and the teacher asks everyone to talk about the job their dad does for a living. So many little kids go "computer programmer!", "police agent", "Nationstates Moderator", you know, the usual. Little John however, says "My dad goes out at night, to the red light district of Amsterdam finds some guys and undresses for them. He stays away for a few nights in a row and when he returns he's all coked up and doesn't remember what he has done".

The teacher, is shocked, and sends all kids to play outside for a little while and asks Little John to stay behind.
"Is this true? Do you need any help?" she asks.
Little John answers: "No, I made all of that up, the truth is, I'm embarrassed about what my dad does for a living".
"Really, what does he do?" the teacher asks.
Little John looks down, blushes and says: "He plays for the Dutch national football team"
