Southampton can get Europe right?

We are 5th now, 63 points, west ham have 62 and are losing we have better goal difference than both and we will finish at least 6th, 5th if bournmouth win. Record points, record position, strait to the group stages of the europa. We got knocked out in qualifying by midgetland last time.

FULL TIME 4-1 RECORD SEASON EUROPA LEAGUE HERE WE COME

Don't you need to finish 5th to qually now? I can't see Bournemouth beating Manchester United

5th and 6th get to the group stages, if the cup winner is in europe all ready 7th gets into qualifying (that was us last year) if not the fa cup winner gets it as well
It says on the clubs twitter we are going back to europe, so we must be.

5th gets a group stage spot in the Europa League. FA Cup winners / 6th does not; 7th (via the Capital One Cup) will miss out on the Europa League if Liverpool win on Wednesday.

If Crystal Palace wins the FA Cup, the sixth-placed team enters the Europa League third qualifying round, with Crystal Palace and the fifth-placed team entering the group stage. If Manchester United wins the FA Cup, they and Southampton enter the group stage, and West Ham enters the third qualifying round. (…unless Manchester United beats Bournemouth by nineteen goals.)

The penalty was bullshit but if the title had been on the line still 1-5 Spurs wouldn't have been a surprising result.
It also shows Mason and wee Tommy aren't Dembele stand-ins. Hope Bentaleb's mind and body are set for next season, and we bring in a backup for Dier. Is Neustader still not agreed on a contract? He could do.
Now to focus on the next season. Let it behind you, congratulate Newcastle for being the only team to beat us twice, wish then good luck in the championship and hope to see them the season after next, take a well deserved break, then work on getting back to fitness for the next season.

Sky Sports reported before this round of games that the last Europa spot is vacated should Liverpool win the Europa League and qualify for the CL…

Didn't see that from Villa this season too much...
A bit against Saints, what a shame, Westwood has been pretty good post relegation, probably won't stay next season.

Since Liverpool has not qualified for the Europa League, no place needs to be vacated if they win the Europa League. England would have 5 teams in the Champions League and 3 in the Europa League.

West Ham also qualified for the Europe League 1st qualifying round through the fair play award. Southampton started in the 3rd round of qualifying.

Depends on who stays. Rafa included. I know the fans want him to stay, their performance today shows the players like working under him as well. Players with release clauses may not have too much of a choice in the matter but I can see many wanting to.
Ashley has to go though. Prety much all of the footballing world already knows that.

Like I said, the best we've played is since Benitez came in, and we do desperately need him to stay. Because the job is a real poisoned chalice as long Ashley is running things.
The club owes Ashley something like £130m as a loan, no-one will want to buy a club with that much debt and so little prospect of success.

IDK how the qualification works. I managed to get Southampton in both the Champions and Europa League in FM 2011 but I assume that's either because the game is outdated or bugged.

He has done good work. I'd like to see it continue. Just wish it was Villa you smashed 5-1 and Spurs you had a boring 0-0 against.

Wonder if the fans would want to do it. Could be interesting to have a fan owned Toon. Doubt it's realistic though.

Wish i had gone to the pub today if only to get hammered with all the other grieving yiddoes. They're going on a pub crash, alas I doubt the panned stop to the Gooner bar to rub it in their faces happened.
