Same. Though I imagine the Obama administration will be pleased as hell if Harper is gone.

As will incidentally John Cleese and John Oliver (you beautiful bastards).

Obama won't be happy if the new government is less welcoming to TPP.

"So another Canadian was elected as Canadian President last night in Canada. In the next and more important story, does ass cancer actually exist? Assologist Brian McFarland takes a look at your ass and how it may be affected by ass cancer."

"And later: when will Canada elect it's first American Prime Minister? Follow us as we interview one intrepid patriot, who is trying to break that glass ceiling."

John Oliver had a pretty good segment about the election on his show last night. We might get something from the Daily Show and Nightly Show, but probably just a peep from the major American news networks.

Ironically, there is a Liberal candidate in Oakville named John Oliver running in this election.

So Pierre is Avatar Roku, Harper is Ozai, and Justin is Aang. I guess that means Mulcair is Jet. :p

Trudeau: The Last Votebender. Only he can gain control of more than one party element and master strategic voting.

I'm pretty sure he'll view whomever as far more negotiable however. Harper and Obama have noticeably had a very tense and stubborn relationship over the past few years.

Are you really surprised though?

A tiny bit tbh. Especially considering the progressive sweep going through America, you'd expect that they might start covering the country a lot of American progressives look towards as inspiration (the others being the Nordic countries as a collective).

I don't feel like Obama correlates well to any of the parties in Canada. Liberals the most, I suppose.

So, basically, Obama isn't going to be happy.

The Liberals haven't stated they will reject TPP, which is disappointing

They want to actually look at it first. As far as I know, the Tories haven't exactly been forthcoming about what it contains.

CNN? There's your problem.

They are waiting to see the full details before making a decision, which is a reasonable position. Although I found it interesting that Harper already announced bailout money for the dairy and auto industries.

Which is the best approach to be honest. Try to negotiate the bad aspects as best you can, rather than scrap the whole thing. Only scrap if absolutely necessary.

And yeah, Obama is closer to the Liberal Party (though the Grits are more to the left than he is, generally speaking). IIRC didn't some of his advisers join Trudeau's campaign team? Or at least two of them have expressed support for Trudeau becoming PM.

That's true, but from what has already been leaked it should be enough to reject it.
