Ah! But there is no snark. And some people use diversionary tactics to evade making clear responses. This happens a lot. So if you don't want to agree or disagree on the original point, which you now comprehend, then

don't. And to that point, if Jeb defends Mexican/Hispanic honor now he gets burned in his party during the primaries. And if he doesn't, and he is the nominee, he gets burned for it in the general by a Democrat who is

most likely Mrs. Clinton. Catch-22 for Jeb. But Republican Joe Sixpack types like to see a little fire in the belly, as I was saying. So it could burn Jeb in primaries in northern states where voters might not care so much if

they are or aren't Mexican, and can relate to defending their wives and children against such slurs, because they aren't all bigots. Jeb's in a bind.

They're not necessarily bigots, but they do tend to focus largely on items that affect their personal bottom line, as do most of us. Trump's tough talk may actually be appealing to some of them.

about the nationality of the mother of Joe Sixpack's children, He is going to take him to task. Especially if he is competing with him for anything. George Pataki said today that other Republicans should call Trump out for

his bigoted remarks about Mexicans. Well, this is what Jeb Bush should have done, and Jeb blew it!

The Hispanic voters he is trying to court are ...any questions now?

I see exactly what you are saying. Jeb is damned if he does and damned if he don't. This gives hope to the other moderates in the Party like Kasich and Pataki. They might just attack Jeb on his weakness here.

Well, it's impossible to have complete equal opportunity or outcome.

But we can do things like increasing family benefits, providing free childcare and pre-k, eliminating child poverty, and reducing economic inequality. We can't expect to make things perfect, but we can make them better.

Yes. But they are expected to follow certain cultural mores the right displays a little stronger than the left. One is that you do not let anyone take shots at your kids or your wife, especially their heritage.
I am glad you can agree that Trumps tough talk is along those lines for them. I watched about 10 minutes (all I could stand) of FOX News today. That is what I observed there. It is like another world sometimes with those folks.

Bill Maher refers to Republicans as being inside "the bubble," where nothing from the outside gets in. That is the other worldliness to it. Until they free themselves from "the bubble", they aren't going to win the POTUS.

Republicans will not be pulled as long as the Tea Party has anything to say about it...and they will have plenty to say.

Well, Sanders is catching on with some Republicans. So the party is going to either shift to a more sane area or shift further right and a shift right would kill all moderate support they have

Here Bernie would be a moderate centre-leftist. It is truly interesting to see how he fares there.

Yes, and this is why Mrs. Clinton is moving left with her rhetoric. She knows that the left of the Democratic party is pissed that we have had center-right candidates for such a long time.

Bernie Sanders is the ONLY man who actually makes sense out of ANYONE in this nation right now.

He isn't even a rightist. No, this man is a total socialist. This is GOOD. We NEED a man like this! I was surprised I never heard about him until now! I thought he was a typical windbag old man who is like the others. But now, I come to discover, this "old man" still got common sense drilled in his head and actually got screws strongly firm in his head.

So I'm voting for this guy. Sanders is a sage.

The ONLY thing I've heard him speak about was this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the ... n-problem/ And that is from a while ago.

If he truly is going to run as against identity politics that's awesome. That's why I picked him in the poll. Not that it matters because Hillary polls better against all her hypothetical opponents than Obama did in 2012 as an incumbent President iirc, and I caucus with the GOP in my state.

IMHO, he is the only candidate to the right of HRC in the Dem field. That would have been an advantage in the 1990s before W. came along and shown a bright light on the failings of more conservative policies. The bloom is way off that rose, especially as President Obama is gaining steam in his last 500 days in office. I like Webb though as a person, but he may be running for something else besides the Dem nomination for president. After all, Virginia is a nice state to carry for Hillary, but who knows this early on?
