Uh, is there a difference?

yuck = used to express strong distaste or disgust.

ew = used to express disgust or distaste.

According to Google, yes, there is. It is the smallest difference ever, but it is certainly a difference.

Yuck is one tier above ew in the ladder of expressing disgust. *nods*

There is a difference there. Let's look at the dictionary, shall we.

YAY - Expressing triumph, joy, or encouragement
HOORAY - Another term for hurrah
HURRAH - used to express approval (as commonly used by United States Marines).

Approval is not the same as encouragement, triumph, or joy.

Triumph - a great victory or achievement.
Encouragement - the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope.
Joy - a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.
Approval - the action of officially agreeing to something or accepting something as satisfactory.

Well, the Italiosian Dictionary is wrong.
