The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

It has gone so far that some have already started a movement to counter that, called "Free Range Children", if I remember correctly.

On a personal note, I scored 42 runs today. Forty two. My previous record was set 8 years ago at 23.

Wow, this is why kids are becoming depressed and obese with no life skills. TV should be limited to like an hour a day after homework is done, whatever happened to kids walking around the neighborhood to play with each other or knocking on other kid's doors to see if they could play? Guck modern parenting this is why they make child leashes now.

In NY it's September and June.

I figure that might be that our summers are very bad. Sometimes we have heat days where kids can't go to school or just recess.

Yup. Hell, growing up I didn't even have a TV, my entertainment choices were "go outside and play" or "read a book".

Are you telling me that the idea of five dollar half cooked hot dogs and drunk buffoons yelling in your ear is not enjoyable?

Five dollars. Exactly. Everything is way overpriced. You take what you think is enough money and can only afford ice cream and a small bottle of water. You spend the rest of the day panting like a dog.
