I'm sure someone else has already posted this, but John Oliver NAILS it. Also, this entire situation really, REALLY makes the "America has a score to settle" billboards around here about the Cup extremely hilarious. :lol2:

No you wouldn't.

The hosts don't have to qualify, so something would have to be added.

Clearly you failed to actually read the entire post which you're selectively quoting, which specifically states:

The qualifying draw is scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg in July, but changing where the World Cup takes place has no material impact on World Cup qualification for the non-European confederations (and at least two have already started qualification) - it only changes the destination where the qualifying teams play.

It would potentially impact UEFA qualification (this is assuming the hypothetical that FIFA would replace Russia with another European host) since Russia would need to qualify, and the new host wouldn't. However, UEFA qualification doesn't get underway until September 2016 anyway, so it wouldn't be logistically impossible - or even that difficult - to re-do the European draw in 2015 or early 2016.

Top tip: reading is your friend.

FIFA could easily have claimed that they'd need more time to plan it than that, but I suppose their 'ways' are somewhat under question currently.

And replacing Sepp Blatter as President of FIFA will be...

... Bett Slapper.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

"Progressive". Hm. I can see that there is some humour intended, but is that your primary concern?

Yes, progress would be my concern. I don't know why it wouldn't be anyone else's.

First order of business in reforming football.

Shoulder pads and helmets are now required. The ball may be carried by hand and carry stops when the ball carry is tackled. Each team gets 5 chances to advance the ball 10 meters before the other team gets the ball.

Very nice. The current shape seems a bit off, though. Hard to hold onto. Any ideas along those lines?

Better make the ball oblong.

Five chances is too many. You should have four chances, unless your Canadian in which case you should only get three.

Exactly. Canadians are superior to everyone else, so we only get three attempts to move the oblong ball in 10m segments, because otherwise it's unfair.

Blatter resigned, claimed it was voluntary. More likely he was thrown out.

Good on him to resign three days after the election

Blatter is now missing and fifa's bank accounts are now empty.

It seems he has embezzled billions from fifa.

Warrants have been issued for his arrest the world over.

Fifa may not survive.
