In civ rev their was the Zulu civ, their starting warrior the impa had double movement allowing you to capture settlers if they didn't found their first city yet or attack defenseless ones who used their troops to explore. An army of those fuckers made their second starting ability come into play where you needed to only be triple their strength to overrun in fights making you unbeatable in the first era.
