I would suppose that NSG is definitely left wing to some extent, with a good percentage of the posters being socially liberal, and somewhat economically left-wing (although most aren't bleeding heart socialists, and still support private enterprise nonetheless, and not as left-wing as they are socially). Yet, we do have those who do not conform to this majority, but those who do not conform range from Marxist-Leninists, to Neo-Reactionaries, to Monarchists.

I'm fairly new here and would kinda like a casual go around about what NSG is like and what I can expect from my view points.

I'm business friendly, socially liberal (excluding abortion and feminism), and pretty much what my sig says so yeah.

What's NSG like?

Strongly left-wing AND strongly right-wing. Basically just plain extremist. Never seen so many of both communists and fascists in a single place. But that's okay, it's not like others are unwelcome. It's good in the sense that you get to interact with people you might normally never see.

Not quite. There are a few of us. Just get drowned out and dismissed by authoritarians of both the right and left. You have to just not care, and stick around anyway. Things were better though several years ago, before the most significant libertarians left.

Now to everyone... what was the most extremist view you have thus far seen on this site?

Back on the Jolt forums during the height of Project Chanology, we had a brief storm of Scientologist trolls attempting to smear Anon/Anti-Scis and pimp how awesome they were. I swear to $deity, they were utterly incapable of arguing their position without flaming the hell outta their detractors. (Which, as I understand, is part of the organization's doctrine for dealing with dissent.)

Oh, then there's the occasional chemtrail guy. Those get pretty far out there, too. Things almost invariably go pear-shaped whenever we get an actual Young-Earth Creationist, Geocentrist, or Flat-Earther on the site. And one time we had some completely crazy guy briefly ranting about a government conspiracy about time being flat and the government was hiding the truth etc etc etc.

I think the most extreme statements I've personally seen tend to come from Moderation matters though, ranging from how the site is a Nazi-supporting offshoot of Stormfront (because we don't outright ban the ideology entirely,) that we've been responsible for DDOS attacks on other sites (that the mod team has never even heard of,) even had one once foreeever ago that was completely convinced that the mods had Max Barry captured and held hostage so we could rule the site without his interference.

Well it isn't like Moderation, and the rest of NS haven't been cockfighting over certain issues.

Of-course didn't we have a person who argued for a military dictatorship based on human equality rule the Earth, and help end mixed racial discrimination?
