How long will everyone stay up until tonight?

I'll probably be up until about 3-3:30.

The results will begin coming in around 11pm, no? If so, that's afternoon for us yanks, so I'll be attentively watching the results come in while eating my dinner.

I hope the Tories don't win. Their social policies are weird.

I will never, ever get tired of the beauty in the Tories rejecting electoral reform and quite possibly losing power as a direct consequence of the archaic, broken electoral system they fought so very hard to maintain.

On a different but related note, I voted for the first time today, which was an interesting experience.

Well, I figured you'd support their social policies. Their government was largely down with same sex marriage, and failed to create strict immigration laws. Now, I know their stances on porn are odd, but to my knowledge, they have no real intention of banning porn.

Plus, there will be no winner during this election. There will be no majority. Rather, there will be a sloppy coalition, and while the Tories will likely win the most votes, I imagine that the Labour Party will be forced to cuddle up to the SNP. Though, such a coalition is similar to a suicide pact, as the coalition would anger both Labour and SNP voters.

It's worth noting that, much as Cameron (and this is about the only thing I'd willingly praise him for) did introduce same-sex marriage, the majority of Tory MPs present at the vote actually voted against same-sex marriage.

And I'd stand by the idea of a Lib-Lab minority coalition, propped up by the SNP vote-by-vote on union-wide issues in a way that wouldn't damage either the SNP or Labour by them getting "too close".

On an unrelated note, I've got a festive flag for the election.

Most Tory MPs were against it, as they would be the proposed change in the legal system that would allow me to get treatment.

The most weird? They banned vaginal piercings. I know it may not seem important, but is daft and foreshadowing.

Apart from a few outliers lke the historically speedy Houghton and Sunderland South (formerly known as Sunderland South), which HuffPost is forecasting as releasing its results at 11pm.

I'm personally going to hit the hay relatively early tonight and then get up at about 3am so that I avoid the midnight tedium and get to watch the results really start to pour in.

I think it's worth noting that only about 2/3 of Tory MPs actually voted, and I'd expect a majority of those who couldn't make it to back marriage equality (because progressives are usually busy doing stuff unlike some on the 1922 committee). Also, the fact that Cameron forced it through despite a huge portion of his party pushing back suggests how principled he is on the issue of equality.

Yes, they should go out to the streets and stop a catastrophe. The anti-British elements will never stop acting even if the Torries win this elections.
