The worst global recession since the Second World War coupled with a major political scandal. That's the root cause of all this. The SNP and the UKIP are just riding the wave of public discontent.

Plus, you always tell us that Miliband is hardly different from Cameron. Who's to say that Miliband won't be another Hollande? Someone who goes through with austerity, despite promises that he won't?

Because unfortunately, I'm pretty confident that I'm slightly too far removed from Scotland for them to give me citizenship.

i'd actually prefer it if england started acting half-decent but i don't see it ever happening

even if scotland ends up independent another conservative government is not going to be fun and the process will be unpleasant

Probably the result that's made me most happy tonight, besides George Galloway being arrested. The Ulster Unionists are one of the few parties in the UK I legitimately like, if only because next to the DUP and Sinn Fein it's hard not to look like a good option.

Can someone from the UK explain to me the political positions and views for the respect party and SNP? I'm not that educated on the UK political parties and would like to know some more.

Respect party is a socialist, Anti-EU party.
SNP is a centrist, democratic party.
