An excellent example of why allowing unrestricted immigration of people with a very different culture might not be the best idea ever :P

As for how it's relevant? It's not entirely, but Texas could be considered a topic for discussion given this happened in Dallas.
Any word on where the shooter was from? Texas or no?
Democrats are incredibly evil. And both Bushes are Texas-shaming assholes. This is why Texas should go independent, there is no hope in this forsaken country, whether you go left or right.

And abortion clinic shootings prove Christians are savages, aren't sweeping generalizations fun?
No. Different denominations, different beliefs.
Ibadi Muslims, Catholics and Mormons are fine. Baptists are generally not. I dont know why you keep pulling up Christians in every Islam convo with me. Are you assuming im a christian?

What of the fundamentalist Mormons that form religious compounds that force children into marriage, rape them, indoctrinate them, and beat them? Since Mormons have a small community of fundamentalists, shouldn't you be just as antagonistic to them as to Muslims?North Dallas wrote:Washington Resistance Army wrote:

I've met many Muslims. Never liked any. Only kill on TV, dress like monks in real life, claim welfare in real life (unless they are cab drivers, cause they rip u off) and are not integrated at all. American and Muslim are paradox. Muslims are only interested in Mecca and the homes of their ancestors.

What bullshit. Most Muslims dress the same as the majority of the people in there area do. You know what the average Muslim dress on my campus is? Jeans and a t shirt. Some of the women may wear hijab, though several of them don't. I've been to typical college parties with Muslims that involved all the drinking and smoking you would expect, and many of them are participating like everyone else. One of the leaders of the Queer Action club on campus is a bisexual Muslim woman. She also helps with organizing people for the Black Lives Matter marches. I know two Muslims that are active members of the kink community and don't see it as much of a conflict with their faith. Muslims are individuals. They are not some religious massive hive mind.North Dallas wrote:Val Halla wrote:Oh, the generalizing! Have you ever met a Muslim? If so, did they kill you? Evidently not. Not once has he made a threat of violence against me, the same cannot be said for Christians and Atheists. He's charitable, speaks amazing English, and Spanish too. He even teaches people Arabic on request. So, what I'm trying to say is, your logic is flawed.
And he knows Arabic because?
Religious reasons?

But this is, once again, religious fundamentalism making its wonderful contributions to society. But now the Christian Right will get their panties in a wad about "those damned muslims invading our country" and pretend like they're somehow better...
