It is a complicated definition because of contradictions, like you said.
In short I would say it's equal distribution of opportunities (not just "rights"), and also, against tyranny or abuse (e.g: some kind of a mini-police state -- I do not mean 'police' in the usual sense of the word mind you).

Part one: I have known several people to begin a conversation, and then proceed to vanish and not say a word back, or to take so long between responses, that I usually get fed up and close the chat. It seems increasingly difficult for people to say: "Hey, I'm a little busy, I might be slow to reply," OR "I'll be back in a while." Heaven forbid! Instead I'm left sitting wondering what the hell people are doing or where they've gone without a word.

Part two: people who go on MSN et. al. and 99.9999% are ON but in away or busy mode. If you're so damn busy or away constantly, why be on at all (save to be left a message perhaps).

Part three: I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks they initiate almost all the online chats with people; I can sit for hours online and people who even show they're on never say a word; perhaps they have nothing to say or talk about; but I feel like I'm the one who constantly has to initiate conversation with others. Meh; perhaps they feel the same way too!

However it doesn't mean people in it were happy. And this is where I agree, also why communism < capitalism < socialism/real communism.

It's much lower initial condition was because of the failed Communist reforms that were attempted by Lenin and Stalin. The US was always in a much better condition, socially, at least. While the two governments competed, the corporations in the USA were making advancements in other areas. However, all that proves is that a government running IN a Capitalist Society works better than a Government working AS a State Capitalism.

It isn't. It's the government taking the role of a corporation, employing everyone. That sort of thing.

Welfare Capitalism is just a normal Capitalist system with high taxes, and provides the basic needs for most of it's citizens.

I was in a couple really really really bad car accidents a while ago (both because of my Narcolepsy) that should have killed me about a hundred times over. Ever since then I get really nervous whenever I'm in a car. I'm pretty much terrified of them, so I tend to keep my eyes shut when I'm in cars most of the time.

Still can't drive yet, either. Not sure if I ever want to.

The first one, I fell asleep, hit a curb, and barrel-rolled through the air, collided with the back of a pickup truck, did two front flips and ended up going off a ravine upside down. And I didn't have a scratch on me when I climbed out.

The second one, I fell asleep again and ended up drifting into the middle of the highway and getting hit by two cars and a truck, again getting flipped over. I rolled a couple times during that one, too. Again, not a single scratch.

Both sound like impressive skateboard maneuvers, but they dont translate well into cars.

And yes, I don't know how I'm alive.
