What are you babbling about? Even the terrible USSR (and I do mean it, terrible, because it was that crappy 'communism' and not the real socialism/communism as on paper, but government abuse) had quite good leaps.

Also of note is its MUCH lower INITIAL condition, much poorer, and it thrived more than the US as a ratio to its initial condition during the cold war. (well until it collapsed)

However it doesn't mean people in it were happy. And this is where I agree, also why communism < capitalism < socialism/real communism.

Or are you implying such a person would invent the internet by himself?

Also, why not commercialize nukes? Capitalism will make sure it's going to progress, am I rite? :p

Blech. I don't want nukes going any further then they already have.

Although I'm sure someone would sell it to the wrong government, and then there'd be hell to pay.

And, I'm saying that this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Berners-Lee Created the Web as we know it today, as much as Thomas Edison revolutionized the light bulb.
It is a complicated definition because of contradictions, like you said.
In short I would say it's equal distribution of opportunities (not just "rights"), and also, against tyranny or abuse (e.g: some kind of a mini-police state -- I do not mean 'police' in the usual sense of the word mind you).

So, are we talking State Capitalist or Welfare Capitalist?

It seems increasingly difficult for people to say: "Hey, I'm a little busy, I might be slow to reply," OR "I'll be back in a while." Heaven forbid! Instead I'm left sitting wondering what the hell people are doing or where they've gone without a word.

Part two: people who go on MSN et. al. and 99.9999% are ON but in away or busy mode. If you're so damn busy or away constantly, why be on at all (save to be left a message perhaps).

Part three: I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks they initiate almost all the online chats with people; I can sit for hours online and people who even show they're on never say a word; perhaps they have nothing to say or talk about; but I feel like I'm the one who constantly has to initiate conversation with others. Meh; perhaps they feel the same way too!

End rant. ;)
Man you might have described me because I rarely have enough motivation to restore an old debate when there's more interesting stuff I can do (and I am extremely busy mind you). :(

Well yes it does. Because that's what they've done, see, and no bitching and whining will get them to change it.

That doesn't really have any affect on what I said. You would know what people meant if the said the President of America.

Like I said, I'm finished debating with children, and I honestly do not see why you have to continue this on the forum. This just shows that you care nothing for the debate itself, but more for the attention you think you'll receive if you defeat a Council Communist in a debate. You haven't. All you've shown is your intolerance and your desire to piss other people off and to get yourself worked up for nothing. I made a promise, and so I shall follow through with it. I'll leave you sources. There are some on the top that I left as a remark to another person, but here are the ones on Capitalism:

A council Communist? What in the world is a council Communist? Well, Zavizar, I debate for the thrill I get from it. I like the exchange of ideas, although, like I said, I can go off when it comes to Communism. You, however, did not show me the links I asked for relating to the debate we were having. You can claim that I like to piss people off (Which I don't), or that I'm doing this for the attention, but I think it's because you simply do not care about this matter enough to address the posts I put towards you, instead focusing on the ones directed to Skama.

Adios, don't forget to put me on ignore. :)

It's much lower initial condition was because of the failed Communist reforms that were attempted by Lenin and Stalin. The US was always in a much better condition, socially, at least. While the two governments competed, the corporations in the USA were making advancements in other areas. However, all that proves is that a government running IN a Capitalist Society works better than a Government working AS a State Capitalism.

It isn't. It's the government taking the role of a corporation, employing everyone. That sort of thing.

Welfare Capitalism is just a normal Capitalist system with high taxes, and provides the basic needs for most of it's citizens.

I was in a couple really really really bad car accidents a while ago (both because of my Narcolepsy) that should have killed me about a hundred times over. Ever since then I get really nervous whenever I'm in a car. I'm pretty much terrified of them, so I tend to keep my eyes shut when I'm in cars most of the time.

Still can't drive yet, either. Not sure if I ever want to.

Blame that on whoever decided to name the country the "United States of America". If they had given it a real name then we could have a proper adjective.

Not your fault.

The first one, I fell asleep, hit a curb, and barrel-rolled through the air, collided with the back of a pickup truck, did two front flips and ended up going off a ravine upside down. And I didn't have a scratch on me when I climbed out.

The second one, I fell asleep again and ended up drifting into the middle of the highway and getting hit by two cars and a truck, again getting flipped over. I rolled a couple times during that one, too. Again, not a single scratch.

Both sound like impressive skateboard maneuvers, but they dont translate well into cars.

And yes, I don't know how I'm alive.
