It was actually while on an Army base, we were using their artillery range for practicing indirect fire with the Mark19. While out on the range doing this we were informed by the range officer that there was a flight of Apaches inbound for live-fire exercise and that they didn't know we were there and that they were operating under radio silence.
In retrospect, the last two details were obviously not true, the Army range officer was just fucking with the jarheads on his range, but still...
