Personally, I'd somewhat for embargoing Indonesia at this point. Just because they have such a shitty government that clearly isn't capable of living in the 21st century.

It is absolutely true however, that there was virtually no opium in all of China by 1956, the PRC had so thoroughly stamped it out at that time. There were no poppy fields to be found where they previously existed. Opium only began to come back to China as soon as it gradually opened up to capitalism under Deng Xiaoping and abandoned Mao Zedong's ideological platform.

About M.J Veloso, our former president, S.B Yudhoyono spared her back in 2010. After Jokowi got elected, she was again scheduled to be executed. I read in the wiki that her godsister kinda forced her into doing this, so it's the godsister who should be punished actually.

If Veloso does need to be punished, I think she should be put behind bars again for the rest of her life, not death.

Well the only thing she did wrong is not double check her luggage. Plus she has two kids and is a single mother, so it's kinda hard not to do anything for her. But at the end of the day, the Government in Indonesia did well in sparing her because keeping her alive is in the best interest of the Indonesian people.

But Jokowi definitely doesn't, as he insisted, "This is not a cancellation but a postponement." Which probably means she will be executed some time in the future. Let's just hope and pray that that won't happen. This is why I told my parents to not vote for him at the elections, but my parents didn't care.
