I've literally never heard a single person ever claim Canada was socialist. Like, not even a Tea Partier.

You've never met my Tea Party member brother. He was calling Canada not merely Socialist but Communist 35 years ago. In fact, he insisted everyone who wasn't an American Republican was communist. I suspect much of that was directed at me to anger me (which it did), but as he has reportedly said things like this to other people many times, he either believed this all along, or has said it so many times he's come to believe it. He's an extreme example, to be sure, but there are people who think like him; at least in part.

My fiance and I have a Dodge Avenger and a Toyota Corolla. Honestly, the Dodge is a better car that the Toyota. It has better acceleration, better gas mileage and a better breaking system.

Funny enough, considering the Avenger was placed at the bottom of the midsize class for several years, until its final in 2014. Worth noting that it was very cheap and also of 96% US parts content, exceeding even the 95% American Ford F-150.

If often pains people to admit it when an American car is as good as or better than a foreign one, because the traditional narrative is that German cars always perform the best quality, Japanese cars are the most efficient and reliable, and Swedish cars are the safest, while American cars are still thought to be unreliable, gas-guzzling, slow, and of poor quality. It will be some great amount of time and several generations (restyles, not human generations) of excellence on the part of US manufacturers to try to break those preconceptions that started in the 1970s and 80s and cemented in the 90s. I'm not sure if it helps or hinders, but my daily driver is a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII LSC, a car, that even in the relative doldrums of the 1980s, was significantly more advanced and presented a much better value proposition than its biggest contemporary rival, the BMW 6-series.

Well previous to this I was driving an old 1985 Ford LDT Country Squire. Until finally, even after countless fluid changes, the Transmission started to go out on me. Now I can afford to change the fluid on it, but fix it? That's so far out of my price range at this point in time. We sold it to someone who knows how to work on cars for $450 and actually got the Dodge from my fiance's uncles estate after he passed away. I am impressed by the vehicle, even though it doesn't have the fancy touch screen audio system that many 2014's have, it has a good sound system, for a 4 cylinder it has great pick-up (although I haven't tested it going 0 to 60 fully, living near New Orleans and all), and we only fill it once every week and a half to two weeks (only takes about $34 to fill it from near empty with current gas prices).
