Lots of guys I know have similar brakes, just without the juvenile artwork.

And those that don't want it, can get it without the pig, or paint over it. However, some get a laugh out of it. Humor comes in different forms to different people, and they all deal with it differently. For example, an associate of mine has a tattoo of a Tab button on his arm. The joke is that he thinks Iraq was his own personal game of Counterstrike. You may think its juvinile, but its a coping mechanism, and its how he deals with the shit he saw, and did while a gunner on a HMMV in some of the most hostile parts of Iraq without going insane. Its not tasteful, but it helps him cope, and thats the important part.

Those aren't the ones I'm concerned about pissing off, it's the ones who are at the "I don't particularly care for you but I'm not angry enough to do anything about it yet" stage.

There will always be some on the fence. And somewhere, sometime, something will piss them off enough to reach that stage where violence is the reaction. Doesn't matter if its something like this Bible Code fuss, or perhaps a particularly inspiring sermon from a local Imam, sooner or later those on the fence will jump down onto the side of violence.

As for what stage comes next it's usually the "I've got several 5.56mm holes in me" stage.

99% of them wouldn't be fighting us, if for no other reason than it's a long, long swim over here. Also, many of them only came after us because we invaded and they were convinced by Al Qaeda and others that the US was initiating another Crusade and that it was the duty of all Muslims to oppose us. For many the US invasion of Iraq was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back.

You are correct, those 99% probably wouldn't be fighting us. But they'd be supporting those that would. Money, training, services, intelligence, electronic warfare, etc.

I was trying to make the point that the enemy already uses Religious texts, markings, symbols, and beliefs on their weapons. They already believe its a Holy War. So why is it when someone on our side does the same thing, and only gets a stink raised after they've been doing it for 20 years in a small, inconspicuous area, and never publicized it?

Islam recognises Jesus Christ as an important Prophet - it simply does not recognise him as the Son of God, and believes that Muhammad was more important.

They believe in the same God. Hence why Judaism, Islam and Christianity are referred to as the Abrahamic religions.
