Of course I would and anybody who says they wouldn't is either lying or incapable of imagining the desperation of the situation. When we're on the brink of death, the only thing we think of is survival- no morality, love etc. It's a damn useful tool straight from mother Natural Selection that keeps us fighting for our lives- be thankful you have it.

Now I realize it may sound amusing but I'm actually quite serious. People eat beef & poultry all the time. The animals live out there entire existences in cages, drugged, abused, and then are killed, dissected, and eaten. However, a dog down the street without a long enough leash keeping it attached to a house is considered cruelty to animals.

I'm not even going to get into the should we eat meat or not argument, but keep it simple with this question: You and your dog, who is your truest companion get shipwrecked on an island and you can find nothing edible and are starving to death. Would you kill and eat your own dog? (yes this applies to cats and any other personal pets)

Eating domestically raised meat dog I could do easily.

Eating poorly kept aimals in general is problematic. It doesn't matter if they're dogs, cats, pigs, cattle, or chickens.

Eating the neighbors dog - depends. If it were that yappy Yorkie my previous neighbors had, no problemo.
