However, if I could have decided whether to be born male or female, I'd have chosen female. But I've no intent to remove myself from being male, since it was meant to be that way.

I don't feel strongly aligned to either particularly, but I'd probably pick female as well.

Maybe it's out of my own experiences only, but I've been able to have far more meaningful conversation with my female friends than my "bros". I sometimes feel like I'd be able to talk more about my feelings as a woman with my female friends instead of internalising most of it as a guy. I have yet to find someone to open up to completely, partly because I'm afraid I'll come across as a sad, wounded puppy, but of the few times I've cried in the presence of someone else it was always with my female friends.

Sometimes it feels that my male pride is what kept me from opening the cork on this bottle and resulted in my visit to the psychiatrist. Be a man. Don't show them you're hurting, jada jada.

Don't be afraid to show feelings or do something just because it's associated with the other gender. Gender roles are guidelines (if at all), not rules
