Oh no! Our babies are going to starve if we don't pull down our shirt and let them drink our bodily fluids from a hole on our chests! It's almost like there is no such things as formula or baby food!

Breast milk is more healthier for babies than formula.

Sunbathing nude is ok, depending on the type of the beach. Breastfeeding in public is not ok.

Really? Yes, because my goodness, there is nothing more perverted and indecent than a woman providing life-giving milk to their child in public, which most do using a nursing cloth to COVER UP.

Yes? I've never seen any clothes that you talk about.

I don't see the point of legalising it, we've never had a major problem with it.

Breast milk is superior to formula or baby food for infants, and, should the mother not have any bottled, they have every right to feed their child. Get over it.

But breast milk is not necessary for a baby. Unless you want to have bottled breast milk..... ew.

Not to mention it's free and that not breastfeeding is actually painful for the mother.

Countless studies have shown the inherent benefits of breast milk to an infant. I suggest you do some reading, if you haven't, on the topic. And yes, there are many mothers who bottle their breast milk, it's quite common.

If there are benefits to breast feeding I'd hate to see how bad I'd be if my mother gave me formula...

Women do want to be able to breastfeed in public. They obviously do because that is something women actively engage in already.

As a supporter of laws against female toplessness, I'd like to distance myself from those who would extend it to breastfeeding. Obviously when they have a reason to take out their breasts other than showing off, exceptions can be made, just as I mentioned earlier about exceptions for when it's warm out.

Women have breastfed since the emergance of anatomically modern human, and our ancestors before then. In fact every mamal feeds young with milk. And many women today want to breastfeed their children.

Because women are diverse and don't adhere to one way of doing things that you assumed they do.

Well, yes, I'm not stupid, but it is inconvenient to have to breastfeed your baby everytime. That's what they made formula for. You guys are panicking like we are forcing women to remove their nipples and get a double mastectomy.

A majority of the US seems to be handling it just fine. Canada seems to be handling it just fine.France, Poland, Denmark, and Sweden seem to be handling it just fine. So, you see, it isn't just one example.

But I thought those places all blew up because of the topless women.
But seriously, this is stupid. Last time I checked with my female friends, they often find topless men attractive. So why can't we just be equal about this?

You're right both in my home town and in my college town women can go topless if they want, theirs nothing stopping them from it (i.e. the police cant tell them to stop) and I imagine this is the case in many other places. Either no one knows about it or people have a better sense of decency and when certain things are appropriate than we give credit for. That being said the fact that most businesses practice "no shirt, no shoes, no service" for men and women puts a bit of a crimp in either group trying to go topless.

Just look at the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. It sold slightly more than a million copies in 2015, at a price of $14.50, but you can literally Google 'naked ladies' now and see all that for free.

On the other hand, we are getting very off topic. I say, for the US, at least, the "pursuit of happiness" includes freedom of nudity. Men should be able to do it, women should be able to do it. Even if the entire concept of, you know, freedom, was never introduced, the "All men are created equal" pact means women get the same rights as men. There are currently many lawsuits against various American cities about this. It's not a question of legality, it's just a slow-moving litigational overhaul.

But you can't use that to assume everyone will want to go topless. Even so, it does not remove the social restraint for a long while.

Who says it's inconvenient? Have you asked a large sampling of women, say 1000, to get their opinions on the matter? "Excuse me ma'am, do you find it inconvenient to breast feed your child?"

I would imagine the vast majority would say NO.

They made formula not just for the sake of convenience, but for women who cannot produce or cannot produce enough breast milk.

Well, why can't we just force men to not be able to take off their shirts expect in designated areas? Technically still equality.
