Not really. The Republicans have done it a number of times in the past running on 'cutting taxes will engender economic growth that corrects the deficit problem'. Hell, Democrats have used that one it's become so ubiquitous.

It doesn't matter. The former GOP moderates aren't sizable enough to effect how democrats vote because at the moment ANYTHING is better then the Far Right Republicans.

Well sure if you're talking about eliminating trade barriers or giving tax breaks to small business entrepreneurs to promote competition.
But it doesn't really work in every situation.

Moderates outnumber both sides in American society. The problem is that most primaries aren't open to independents.

Are you saying that if he's elected, his real allegiance might be to the Canadian empire?

If so, as a Canadian, I am quite well-disposed to such a person winning in the southern elections.
