That is the gayest fucking shit I've ever heard, and I had Barry Manilow perform at the White House in '82.

Risottia wrote:I'm unfamiliar with the criteria of the FCC, of course.
As for the tv censorship per se, I think that the "safe hours" criteria (or whatever they're called: anyway the rules that allow certain contents only at night) are a relic of the past, when there was just a small number of tv channels.
Nowadays, with the DVBs, it is easier to make specific channels for specific contents, with encryption/parental monitoring systems, that would allow parents to show the kids what they think it's OK to show them.
Generally speaking, though, I think that some contents (expecially explicit pornography and violence, but also compulsive consumerism, excessive focus on status symbols, when not downright stupidity elevated to criterion for personal success) are unsuited for kids, because fiction gives them highly unrealistic models as if they were the real thing (TM), and through an emotion-based medium instead than through a logic-based medium. That's not an ideal thing to happen to a personality still in its developing phase.

So what do ya'll think.

So you support forcing your personal choice on thousands of other people because of a difference of taste? Wow.because i dont like it, i support that it is restricted. im not creating restrictions that dont already exist. i appreciate that there are some outlets that are forced to obey some rules of decency.
And you get to define decency. How nice, Empress. Mind if I grovel as well, perhaps get the FCC to start censoring NSG to your tastes as well?just as i appreciate that there are some outlets that can offer rougher mostly unregulated fare.
Uh huh. So if there's something that you don't like, you don't mind if it's banned from all but a few places? That's a very strange sentiment to be expressing on this particular day.
