When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages,
when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling,
that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual...The notion that science
and spirituality are somehow mutually exclusive does a disservice to both."

Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83.

Well that's quite ridiculous. Nimoy spanned multiple generations. He's a legend, not some mere celebrity.

Nimoy is best known for his playing of Mr Spock is Star Trek. Chances are you will have seen him. And now, I'm gonna pick up a boxset and spend my weekend watching Star Trek in his honour. Wherever he rests, I hope he does so peacefully.
