You need to understand the history behind those countries. Even if the UK has a national religion, it is de facto secular because everyone there knows the moment a Christian sect gets power, they get to oppress the other Christian sects and start the English Civil War.

I think you have it wrong. Someone who believes what the Tea Party is supposed to stand for would NEVER support the establishment of a national religion. I would guess most of the NO votes in that poll were by Tea Party people. It's always big government Republicans (& Democrats) that want the government to control everything we do. The Tea Party is more aligned with respecting people's individual freedoms then the MSM would have you believe.

um, no not exactly...it would mean that public schools would have Bible learning compulsory, mandatory minimum attendance in churches and would directly and deliberately promote bias towards Christian groups in any office or position.
