Your body is not used to it. Why do foreigners drink bottled water when they visit Mexico? Because of that.

I don't actually know anyone other than a few old people who even have land lines. Most everyone just uses a cellphone.

Well businesses still use landlines as a matter of practice and many triple packages from telecom companies still offer land lines.

However, most of those "landlines" are already switching to VoIP protocol instead of the old landline system.

Okay, that's bullshit. Why? Because I eat chana puri here, and rogan josh, and Thai food, like pad kra prow. I have no problem with spicy food. What I might have a problem with if I were to visit India is the lack of clean water to drink, and apparently, the xenophobia.

1. Food in restaurants in the US is served in larger portions. However, it is definitely common (and acceptable) to take a doggy bag and eat the rest of your food later.

See, I was brought up to "finish your plate". The first time I ate out in the US I was in serious trouble...

The doggy bag thing is something I do find very odd. If I want food that someone else has cooked in my house then I'll just get a takeout. Eating part of a meal in a restaurant and then taking the rest home just seems weird to me.

I finish the entire thing, to be honest.

Then again, our meals are based around working out in the field and then eating big meals; not necessarily on a regular lifestyle.

Another thing about American customs, unlike europe, we arent allowed to show certain things on tv, such as commercials with topless females. Im not a perv but, I think the US is a ittle conservative whe it comes to that sorta stuff.

Also, we have A LOT of created/joined words. Y'all, ain't, ect... which separates the English language. I call it, American English.

Ain't ain't uniquely American. It is, however, considered non-standard.

And etc. is the abbreviation for the Latin et cetera.
