I'm a man and not a child, when I'm mistaken I admit the fact like an adult :p

That's not how it works. You're supposed to argue against me relentlessly, calling me un-American and evil! >:(

It's fine. I thought I knew about the Higgs boson and somebody corrected me. We all make mistakes and don't know all in the universe.

Honesty has made a comeback. For now. I prefer it to willful ignorance.

Yes, but you obviously didn't get the memo. When you realize that you're mistaken on NSG, the only thing to do is to value your ego over the truth, double down on your original statement, find some dodgy online sources that seem to back your point, and then result to name-calling and various informal fallacies until moderation gets involved.

But you're an NSer first, and they never admit when they're wrong. :P

And I prefer To Quoc Duc to willful ignorance any day!

Yes, but I can't turn down an opening to mock how that sort of thing usually plays out here.

See, this is one of the problems with the American system. Too much power given to people who are too ignorant and are able to revise history according to what they consider "acceptable".

The federal government should set the curriculum and the states would not have the power to say otherwise.

The problem isn't that it's taught it's that it's potrayed as bad.

I never understood why the conquest of the natives is always potrayed as a bad thing, the country wouldn't fucking exist if we hadn't.

Oh boo hoo some of them were nice, yeah and a lot of them weren't.
Theres nothing harmonius about sacking villages and scalping Men,Women and Children.

Seriously though, that really should be the case.

Of course, the problem with that is that it assumes that we're not going to have ignorant people attempting to revise history to what they consider "acceptable" on the national level. Would you trust, say, a George W. Bush appointee to create a curriculum for AP History?

Frankly I think Infringing the right to learn is profoundly unpatriotic. These events happened. We should be able to learn about them. History doesn't have a liberal bias, history doesn't have any bias. This is tea party lunacy at its finest, which will inevitably force conservatives to move to the center And abolish this entire movement altogether.

There's also nothing nice about massacring Native Americans and then trying to whitewashing it by portraying them as "savages".

People don't do this? I thought this was the norm in any argument where you lose faith in your position.

Nice lie in the title OP. "Bans"? Really? Committees can't do that.

As for the crux of the issue, I am a firm believer in states rights, so Oklahoma is perfectly right in doing this. I've heard bad things about the AP US course, so that is good too.

Neither is it harmonious about disrupting their entire societies and ways of life by forcing them off their homeland and forcing them into barely livable pieces of land.

Neither is there any harmony on making it state policy on killing Buffalo for the explicit purpose of starving plains indians. To be more emotional, state policy on starving innocent children.

Some value ego over truth. Some would rather win at any cost than lose and learn something in the process.

What the actual fuck? Not patriotic? It's history not a fucking propognlanda class. This is completely outrageous, and is reminiscent of something a totalitarian government would pull: banning something that doesn't glorify the state.

I sincerely hope this is not going to last , as I'm not even sure it's constitutional.
