People aren't equal besides being the same species (which makes it as meaningful as saying that all cats are created equal.) They cannot even be considered equal before the law, since people can have different legal prerogatives.

I also don't put any stock in the Declaration of Independence, which was really just a propaganda document.
Like an unscrupulous boyfriend, Obama lies about pulling out after fucking you.

The State never intentionally confronts a man's sense, intellectual or moral, but only his body, his senses. It is not armed with superior wit or honesty, but with superior physical strength. I was not born to be forced.

Oh please. Those people should grow up. The South will NOT rise again.

The Union will instead, fall.

Dealing with a banking crisis was difficult enough, but at least there were public-sector balance sheets on to which the problems could be moved. Once you move into sovereign debt, there is no answer; there’s no backstop.

Last time I checked, people aren't created, and they're not numbers, so frankly neither "created" nor "equal" makes any sense.
No, I'm not the US.

This would make a great national anthem.

I'm sure the feudal lords of medieval times thought that they would last forever, too.

America has no history of monarchism or dictatorship, I doubt Americans would bow to some fat inbred pig fucker, and there isn't any monarchy on earth presently or in the foreseeable capable of humbling the US.

Were I one of my ancestors hundreds of years ago, still in Scotland or Russia or Germany, you might be able to make that point. At present, where the trend seems to be democracy and republicanism, I can't help but suspect my descendants will likely be led by some sort of democratic leader.

The Athenians and the Romans all thought the same thing about their democracies. Look at how well that ended What makes you think your country will escape that fate? It only takes about 500 years for a democracy to become a monarchy. America has been a democracy for only 225 years that means in 275 more years, America will drop democracy and become either a humble monarchy or an imperialist dictatorship.

This is the way of things

At least our cousins still reign in Sweden.

Yes yes. That is what we want you to think because it serves the family's purposes.

I don't believe you. All the legitimate heirs died out long ago.

Also, aren't the current Swedish royal family all descended from Marshal Bernadotte, and thus, unrelated to any of the House of Stuart.

The OP seems to miss the point that the "equality" spoken of in the Declaration of Independence is an equality of human dignity, not an equality of ability or advantage.

"Created" is just archaic 18th century terminology for "come into the world".

Not equal in value. Some are more valuables than others.

No, Europeans are superior at most levels. That's how we conquered the world, at least, for now.

Nobody is born unequal though. (Except mentally disabled people who cannot perform the same tasks, and are therefore at a severe disadvantage)

The quote is clearly talking about "under the law" rather than "genetically".

Athens and Rome were also unique at the time for being democratic and republican in one form or another. The standard at the time period was tribalism and/or absolutism. The standard now is republicanism and democracy, and with increasing globalization and access to information and education, democracy movements repeatedly seem to pop up just about everywhere.

I doubt America will become a monarchy or a dictatorship.
