Jeb Bush Channels Rick Perry: "Oops."

Postby Gauthier » Fri Feb 13, 2015 7:27 pm

Jeb Bush exposed 13,000 social security numbers. Here's where they were hiding

In trying to display an air of transparency, Jeb Bush released loads of emails his address received during his term as Governor. Problem was, those emails were a motherload of personal information including over 13,000 Social Security numbers of Florida residents. In the wake of the Aurora health insurance hack this has to be an incredibly awkward slip by a would-be Presidential candidate. If he accidentally gives away Social Security numbers to internet fraudsters, what else is he capable of accomplishing should he ever make it to the highest office in the land?
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

He doesn't have nearly the number of handlers the president (any president) would get so I don't think he'd do something that dumb again if he were actually elected. I'm all for public officials doing stupid things though; that's great! Just don't get innocent people involved, release your own social security number next time.

He better hope that none of those private emails were from wealthy potential campaign donors. That's a surefire way to lose your monied backing, to release your donors' social security numbers.

I think we've all known for a while that Christie was going to be the Republican frontrunner.

Is he really though? This might just kick the can to Cruz and Rubio. Christie isn't really popular, and Walker is beginning to get support.

This is happening waaaaay too early in the election cycle for it to be anything but a checkmark on a list of issues that his opponents will try to use against him. Barring a future series of mishaps within a relatively short period of time, this one will be largely forgotten by the time that the first vote is cast in the first primary.

I would prefer if he did not win the GOP nomination.

Considering Huntsman has realized he's not actually a Republican, who are you hoping will? I literally cannot think of any candidates who deserve the slightest bit of enthusiasm.

Right now if Bush III falls out of favor, then that leaves the GOP with Christie, Walker, Cruz, and Rubio. Christie still hasn't really recovered.

I say it's going to be walker. He has some good right-wing positions but is willing to compromise on several issues. Particularly immigration. Cruz and Rubio will only gain support in the limited fraction of the GOP.

Oh dear.
That's quite the fuck up. Publishing confidential information the constituents trusted you with.
I mean shit.
...
Isn't that pretty... illegal?
Like, when I've had jobs where I deal with data, i've had to sign a bunch of shit saying I understood the security protocols and swore to abide by them under penalty blah blah blah.
Do politicians not have to do that shit? That's crazy. His secretary might have got arrested for it. Why not him?

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Major issue though is he is cloaked with a finance scandal that will without a doubt get more focus if he makes a bid for president.

True but he is the best shot for the GOP.
