NATO is not a neutral actor, and isn't meant for the entire world. And the UN Charter makes it so any permanent member can veto any resolution.

NATO's Rapid Reaction Force is ready to be deployed anywhere in the world to deal with potential big conflicts. Got it from NATO's website.

But it is meant to serve the interests of the North Atlantic countries, not the world.

No, but that doesn't mean we should have the UN become NATO's bitch.

Does this mean the whole world will have to pay for the Italian armed forces, thus easing my tax burden?

Hey Kremlinbot, calm down because NATO is the only organisation that acts in times where UN hides.

For the Allied Forces yes.

They are doing an okay job. They do all they can to maintain the peace. Peace is almost impossible to maintain. The UN does their duty. I only have some problems with the UN. I don't like how they want to force children to go to school.

No, the UN charter makes it so that any permanent member of the security council can veto any resolution made by that security council. There are still many resolutions passing the General Assembly, which passes the things via a simple majority. The Security Council deals mostly with international peace and stability, making them the most well-known, but they can't veto just any resolution.

It's not called 'Freedom of Education', it's called the 'Right to Education'. Subtle difference, large consequences.

Education leads to freedom, mostly freedom from stupidity. The fascist policy would be NOT making every child go to school, because it is the duty of a citizen to be well-informed. It's good for the collective, too.
