So if you got serious with someone and found out somewhere down the line they were mixed race, it'd be over? What if they didn't know? Or is your first question on a date "How pure is your bloodline?"

Well given that nobody is 100% pure, (race is a continuum, not separate levels), unlikely . I'm not going to care if a distant ancestor was an Arab (as is the case with many Spaniards) or a Turk (like with Greeks). I'd draw the line at 80%, and even then, separation is a very hard decision that involves a number of factors, and to assume that'd be the only one is just ignorant. And frankly, it's none of your business.
And what? No, I don't think anybody ever asks that. Do you not know how to socialize with people?

Seems like a few people like to take a checklist to their first date.

I dunno, man. I think nanotech and q-bits are going to make for a lot of changes in medicine. If you're under 40 now, I'd give you a good shot at 100.

I don't think anyone does, but there are things to keep an eye out for. Does she have good hygiene? Is she easy-going? Is she reasonable? Is she polite? Is she funny? Is she smart?
You don't need a physical checklist, but most people keep mental notes of these things when on a first date.

Considering how many people hide or don't know their ancestry, and how it's pretty easy to pass as white, you might have a bit of difficulty with more recent ancestors.

It seems like a pretty big one.

Hey, you're the one posting here. I asked a question, even if one with a nasty tone, and you answered. If it's none of my business, perhaps sharing your sentiments on the matter with me (And the rest of the internet) isn't the best idea, eh?

Dunno, I've never had occasion to be a racist. I still don't know the ancestry of probably close to half of my close friends.

You know a q-bit held coherence for something like 30 seconds a few months ago? Google has a q-bit processor with about 100 working q-bits.
When they can get three hundred of them together, it will be more computing power than has existed combined on the earth in history on one chip.
My friend's little sister is doing her dissertation on something called "nano-yarn".
Shit's gon' be wild.

That's why you go to relatively homogeneous communities.Conserative Morality wrote:It seems like a pretty big one.

If you wanted to ask a question, then that's fine. But I feel as if all you wanted to do was to look for yet another way to call me a "racist", hence your obviously loaded question.Conserative Morality wrote:Dunno, I've never had occasion to be a racist. Ah, so that was your intention.

I'm assuming the "reasonable" one is within the context of who we're talking about....

I love how you're pretending like someone asking you a question online means you're physically forced to answer it.
