She is an amazing actor. I don't know her as Ripley, I was never exposed to Aliens and am not particularly interested in it now, but I have loved her in other films. Very natural performer.

It does help that she's 6'0", in many of her roles. With how "short" many "leading men" are, there doesn't need to be camera trickery to give her that physically imposing presence.
