Obama continued the droning, mercilessly persecuted and locked up whistleblowers, war in Afghanistan, doing nothing about racism and even racist murder in the police force, kept Guantanamo open, kept the torture programs going, invaded a sovereign nation (Libya) much in the same way as Iraq, supplied weapons to terrorists in Syria, did as good as nothing about climate change, did not diminish the ridiculous military spending (55% of the entire US budget), ...

I don't see much difference between him and the last president.

They were both popular in the beginning, like Obama.And then their popularity decreased.Like Obama.
If the current problems are not solved immediatly by the current leader, his popularity will decrease a little.It's the same from Francois Hollande in France.

I think Francois Hollande's bedroom adventures might have a lot to do with his 5% approval rating, but that's just me.

But yeah, we always hold such high expectations for every President and we always get let down. I think the issue here is that Obama's presidency was built up so massively -- the Democrats acted like it would be an end to racial conflict (like when people waved the "Free at last" signs at Obama's first inauguration). But really, he's just as incompetent as any white guy would've been.

Except that the US has largely moved past that point in our history. So a theoretical American annexation of Israel wouldn't likely go down that road.

But you know, cheap shots at history is a decent enough substitute for having anything intelligent or meaningful to say, I guess.
