it wasn't selfless service, it was aversion to conflict

Doesn't matter. It remains admirable. A correct choice made for less than perfect reasons is still a correct choice.

They mean they actually don't know.

For me it's agnostic theism; I don't know but I've decided to remain at least marginally Catholic.

They mean they actually don't know.

If a person cannot claim to be a theist they are an atheist. Agnostic is a descriptor of what type of theist/atheist they are.

Usually it's more of a apatheist position, or just an agnostic atheist one. I rarely see agnostic theists.

Both of you are wrong! :p In all seriousness I was not really trying to avoid conflict, me and conflict tend to get a long quite well :p But I digress, it's partial service for others and partial attempting to avoid a messy situation.

Yeshua has interested me for the last few years, though I still have to read more about him. The literary Satan has proven a rather fascinating symbol of humanity and individualism. I am currently taking a class on Islam, reading the Qur'an, and reading a text detailing the events of Muhammad's life and the history of Islam. I'm trying to leave my skepticism behind and learn about these figures from the perspective of a believer, and I have found that their teachings and the mythologies surrounding them are positively fascinating.
