There are bigger countries, and we can't exactly survive solely through cheap natural resources, particularly given how the planet will grow less environmentally hospitable this century.

I see China and Brazil becoming highly relevant within the next two decades. Whether or not its superpower mode, I can't say, but I do expect more relevancy from them soon.

You mean the oil they can't really extract because it would be unprofitable (due to low oil prices) and their main oil company is involved in a corruption scandal of historical proportions?

Ah yes, 3.8% of GDP on its military. By that measure Russia is also a permanent war economy, so is the UAE and China, France, the UK are not far behind.

The question is "why Gulf States is included?"

I like how India got more votes than Russia, not that I think India is THAT shitty, I'm just glad people are realizing how fragile Russia actually is since the reforms.

To be honest I don't see any of the contenders becoming superpowers, and I think that the U.S. is slowly losing the power, and influence it once had. If I absolutely had to choose two of the options I would say Murica keeps its spot, and India has the best chance of gaining the title at the moment.

India?

As I said I don't think any of the nations really have a chance, and America will lose the title. I chose India because I know least about the current situation in India, so i don't know as many of the problems they have.

India has social problems and frankly, China or Russia is probably the only possible contenders, although these three countries have really no differences in problems.

India's social problems are really crippling. I doubt that India can progress as a nation if they are still stuck in their pyramid.

It's a pretty strong country considering the strain it has placed on it, but I don't think it's a superpower - at least not economically. Militarily it's probably only matched in terms of numbers and skill by China, and in equipment by the USA.

EDIT: I believe inevitably the Juche ideology will spread, it's just an improved application of Marxism-Leninism.
