That's Luis Suárez. In case you aren't aware he's a professional footballer, something not everyone can do, something which requires no small amount of training and discipline. He's well known for biting other players, diving, and racially abusing Patrice Evra. I assume you don't admire him, yes? Can you thus follow my reasoning that doing something difficult does not make one a good person?I admire them similarly to how one would admire A doctor or lawyer. They are difficult professions to go into, and thus those that do, earn my respect. You can scoff and say "well some soldiers are cowards" all you wish,
And I shall, because it's true, and because people just keep on insisting that soldiers are all brave, courageous heroes.but it does take a certain kind of person to volunteer to lay their lives on the line almost every day.
First, not all soldiers do that. Second, of those that do, some never have the courage of their convictions tested. Third, of those that do, some find that they are not willing to lay down their lives.
I admire the fact he was able to be counted among the few that take sports to such a professional level yes, do I admire the rest? Absolutely not. Same applies to military people in general. I admire the fact they got in, but there are many people that do acts unworthy of admiration. Of course not all soldiers are heroes and some do very abusive, awful things. THOSE soldiers I no longer respect or admire of course, but the rest, the general soldier who signed up and got in and do not commit such acts, I still greatly admire.
