Britain is already acting like one of the US' prostitutes. That's quite close if you ask me.

I wouldn't mind a more equalized relationship, like what we has with the Brits in the 1890s and early 1900s. In fact, Cecil Rhodes's idea for a new world older fascinates me.

He wanted the world to be carved up by America, Great Britain, and Germany.

Mostly. The UK gave us Alan Turing, The Doctor, Isaac Newton, Monty Python, Benjamin Britten, Bertie Russell and Douglas Adams.

Or if the UKIP party wins, and it looks like it is,

HAHAHAHA lol no.

it will leave the European Union.

Should they, they'll be back at Calais in ten years begging for readmission.

But still, on the other hand, it is sending troops to Estonia to help prepare Estonian troops.

And that would be a good bit? It's mostly meh.

t was the country that has given birth to the most influential powers around the world. I.E Australia, Canada, United States, New Zealand.

Australia, Canada and New Zealand are FAR less influential than, let's say, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Brazil, China, India or Japan. Just saying.

So my question is, do you approval or disapprove?

Of Britain, I approve a lot.
Of their current government, no. No love for the LibCons. Neither for the Bliar, either, but at least I enjoyed his "not boffered" bit with Catherine Tate. Mr.Brown, now, him I liked.

You liked Gordon Brown? The man destroyed the British economy.

I eagerly await the day Tony Blair returns to politics and leads Britain back to greatness.

Brown was good at managing the economy. He was a poor orator, and maybe not even a great Prime Minister.

I don't think we can blame the financial collapse, which originated in the US let's not forget, on government leaders except for having not introduced more stringent financial regulations.

During Blair's premiership yes, but when Brown came to power he tried to create his own "legacy", the man overspent, overtaxed, and destroyed the British economy.

He didn't understand the third way like Blair did.

Yeah, because the one who was PM for how long? Three years? - is the sole responsible for the British economy, and Tony Blair (the man who placed Brown as Chancellor, mind you) is the sole-handed saviour of Britain - having led it for ten years, straight up to the beginning of the global crisis without doing anything to prepare for it.

When Britain first, at Heaven's command
Arose from out the azure main;
This was the charter of the land,
And guardian angels sang this strain:
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

The nations, not so blest as thee,
Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall;
While thou shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
More dreadful, from each foreign stroke;
As the loud blast that tears the skies,
Serves but to root thy native oak.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame:
All their attempts to bend thee down,
Will but arouse thy generous flame;
But work their woe, and thy renown.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

To thee belongs the rural reign;
Thy cities shall with commerce shine:
All thine shall be the subject main,
And every shore it circles thine.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

The Muses, still with freedom found,
Shall to thy happy coast repair;
Blest Isle! With matchless beauty crown'd,
And manly hearts to guard the fair.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

RULE BRITANNIA. GLORY TO THE EMPIRE.

Too bad we don't have a song (that I know of) about the Medway.

Anyway, I don't really have a lot of experience with Britain. I've never been there, and only met one Brit, I think (who was a cunt, but eh). I suppose it's alright.

Young? The guy was born during the Suez War when Britain was an Empire trying to hold it's colonies.
Bright? I don't know. His views don't appear to shine that out.
Great future? Where, though?

Blaming Brown for the debt ceiling is pointless. Blair was as much part of that as Brown. They both failed in their famed (&failed) 'Third Way' policy by running a deficit in the longest period of growth the UK endured in it's economical history rather than preparing for the worst.

Well, no doubt a Cheshire Cat for PM would be anyway better than Farage, but calling a 61-year-old "young" must be a part of some new scheme about raising the retirement age even higher than even Maggie Thatcher would have dreamed of.
