No. They prostitute out young women until their youth and enthusiasm wears off.

That's disney, home of Lindsey lohan, Brittney speRs, and Selena Gomez.

Big sites like Amazon would be afraid to censor it, I'd imagine. What company wants a string of lawsuits? Society, eh? Bundles of fun.

With the ratings it has got so far, I wonder why Amazon hasn't taken it off the ''shelf'' yet, so to speak. I've seen them do that with other titles.

Honestly, and maybe it's just me and I care too much or something, but I found it distasteful to see a book like that being sold by a company I held in some esteem because of their self-publishing program. Sure, hardly is that the only stupid book out there but considering the topic... *sigh*

Well, imagine it this way. What about a book about sexual self-discovery?

There's a more significant portion of America out there that would want that banned as well.

Yes, but sexual self-discovery is actually beneficial. Anti-vaccines books? Not so much.

And reasonably so. I wonder why some people actually think it is reasonable to not vaccinate their kids. It's not just the problems you can cause to your own child but also to the children of other people who are innocent and had nothing to do with your irresponsibility.

Your missing his point, if you set up a mechanism to ban books, others will take advantage of it as well. No more "Heather has two mommies".

Because vaccines are not monolithic. Some are safe, some are not. And parents have a right to decide medical treatment to their kids, even when the parents are wrong. And this all belongs in the vaccine thread, and not really here.

On that note, dinner.

Ethel, I am just talking about a topic, like everyone else does here. I had no idea there was a vaccine thread though.

If my stances rustled some feathers, I didn't mean to do that. I just feel very strongly about the subject.

The thing is that these people are dipshits who are exposing their children to disease.

That doesn't mean that it is reasonable to censor things.

Because Amazon exists as a middle man.

You can even sell fake shit on Amazon. Amazon is not there as a bookstore, it exists as a middle man of goods, much like eBay.

Two reasons, ultimately. One, it's a bookseller, it's going to sell as many books as possible to cater to its consumers. It's a terrible a book, the very concept sickens me, but then I am not its intended audience and there are people out there looking to buy it. Secondly, we can't hold Amazon up to a higher standard, it is performing in the free market which vouches for free speech. It can't censor, and I doubt it ever would. As pointed out either everything is okay or nothing I'd okay, fighting against these books just makes us part of the moral brigade.

And, honestly, if I was going to censor just one book it'd be something by Steinbeck.
