Merkel isn't bad. I think the point is that term limits aren't necessary to prevent corruption.

Shilya is probably agreeing with you (and me). If term limits are intended to protect the voters from their own poor judgement, they are anti-democratic.

I do not hesitate to say that Romney might be the next president. Let's hope not, though.

Beware the Merkelreich. Frau Merkel is starting the first "Euro War" by declaring war on Greece, Spain, and Italy. Of course, she does this by imposing austerity on all of them. She, as the Chancellor of Germany, clearly had the power to dictate the fiscal policies of Southern Europe. *nods*

If Romney doesn't win (I think he wins if he decides to run) Republicans are going to win anyways. Like it or not.

I highly doubt that, Hillary is unstoppable, unless a purely populist idiot like warren wins the democratic nominations dems have the presidency locked up.

but she's not running

Teemant said they were Estonian, so it's likely their flawed prediction stems from their lack of familiarity with US elections.

While I can't say I'm a Warren fan, I think it's unfair to call her a populistic idiot. Sure, her anti bank rhetoric is a bit annoying, but I do believe that she's a genuinely good person who's fairly intelligent. Granted, her economic policies wouldn't be great, as they're firmly centre left.

I live in Estonia and I'm Estonian. But your sentence says something else (Teemant said they were Estonian, ...).

I keep myself up to date with US news and events on regular basis.

Nobody implied that you didn't know anything about US politics. But, I don't know a ton about Estonian politics, and I presume that whenever someone says "GOP will win, I'm not American" they don't know much about my country's politics. The GOP is hated here. The midterms where the GOP won had a 30-35% turnout, it was fucking pathetic.

He won a landslide in 2008. And, I'm not predicting a 2016 landslide, I'm predicting a modest Democratic win, like in 2012.
